This is one of my gold pigment experiment.
The base is a 19.75″×19.75″ framed wood sign board. I seal it and gesso it. The background is painted with acrylic. Once it is dry, I glue pretreated wood slices on it and paint with gold pigment. Those wood slices are sanded and stained in different color, finishing with polyurethane. They still have bark on them.
The wood sign board comes with two saw tooth hanging hardware on the top back so this piece is ready to hang.
This piece is made by hand so it is not machine like “clean cut”. The gold pigment will shine under certain lighting angle. In another word, you may find the color looks different under different lighting condition.
I hope you enjoy this piece.
Please feel free to ask me any question. 😀
