“Ramen noodle chicken” mixed media painting on wood board.

This is my original design and painting. Also is one of my art experiments.
This artwork combines collage, acrylic and oil painting. The base is a 20″ by 20″ cradled wood board. All 4 sides has been painted black and polished with wax.

The bottom layer is Japanese sumi paper (rice paper) collage. The paper is actually antique Japanese handwritten letters. I bought them from a seller in Japan. On top of that is acrylic underpainting. Then oil painting layers. I want the kanji on the letter to show through so it has this Japanese indication underneath.

As to the subject, I love ramen noodles (chicken). :D. I believe you can find ramen noodles all over the world and in all kinds of movies, comics and animations. The idea is to make it as pretty as a washi paper. Not realistic, but close to the Japanese Yuzen style art.

There are four pieces in this series, beef, chicken, shrimp and vegetable. I install hanging hardware on the back. You can also find certificate of authenticity in the envelope.
It takes a while to build up all these layers. I put a layer diagram so you have a general idea what is going on there.
