Somerset velvet paper is a popular grade of printmaking paper that was first introduced in the early 1970s at the historic St. Cuthbert’s Mill in the UK. It is made from 100% cotton and has a neutral pH. The paper is slightly textured and has a soft velvet-like feel. It is ideal for printmaking, drawing, charcoal, pastel, and digital applications.
