Sushi dream painting series 1
Initial thoughts The idea comes in when I want to paint things that relate to me. Back when I was a kid, there was a Japanese animation series called <Chūka Ichiban>. The story was about a Chinese young boy who finally became the top chief of whole country. Yes, it was a Japanese manga andContinueContinue reading “Sushi dream painting series 1”
Oil painting Lion cub
Lion cub 22″×28″ This lion cub is actually a test trial for size 22″×28″ canvas. As I mentioned before, 22″×28″ is proportioned to 11″×14″. So I drew the sketch with a 11″×14″ piece of paper and enlarged it onto a 22″×28″ canvas. But once I completed the pencil drawing, my toddler messed it up withContinueContinue reading “Oil painting Lion cub”

Freehand gold pigment doodle artwork When I painted the gold outline for my Yuzen style hexagon painting, I mixed way to much gold paint. But I don’tContinueContinue reading “Freehand gold pigment doddle artwork”
Oil painting – Flying turtle
I love turtle. I want to paint a turtle but I don’t want to paint it in water. I guess every time when I see the word “turtle” I think about sea water. So I want to try something different. When I watched the kid’s show “Wild Kratts” on PBS with my little ones, IContinueContinue reading “Oil painting – Flying turtle”
Japanese Yuzen style hexagon panels – 4 seasons
After finishing the bamboo garden I painted pumpkins. Once I put the bamboo garden and pumpkins together on the wall, I realized something. I can make them into a series representing the four seasons of the year. Bamboo represents summer, pumpkin represents fall, all I need is one for spring and one for winter. SpringContinueContinue reading “Japanese Yuzen style hexagon panels – 4 seasons”
Oil painting – Frosty Stag
Frosty stag, Oil on canvas, 16″×20″ Initial thoughts This painting is done in summer 2021 but it is good for winter season. A imaginary white stag with giant antlers stands in snowy forest. For one moment, you thought you are seeing it, but next moment all you can see is the blurry winter forest. I’veContinueContinue reading “Oil painting – Frosty Stag”
