After finishing the bamboo garden I painted pumpkins. Once I put the bamboo garden and pumpkins together on the wall, I realized something. I can make them into a series representing the four seasons of the year. Bamboo represents summer, pumpkin represents fall, all I need is one for spring and one for winter. Spring is straightforward, traditional cherry bloom, sakura flower will do. Winter takes me sometime to think about. At last, I choose the cracking frozen ice motif. I also choose a pine motif, a white bird swan, and a yuzen style hexagon as major subjects.
I’m glad that they turn out as planned. I hang them on the wall in order of Summer, Winter/Spring, Fall. Spring and fall are usually put together in East Asia culture as we are well known farming civilization. For a famer, the most important seasons are spring (seeding) and fall (harvesting). Yuzen style hexagons are used to depict these seasons beautifully.

By the way, my signature in Spring sakura is upside down because I rotated the panel when I painted it. I painted it in the direction that is easier to reach. Then after putting the panel into frame, the signature appears to be upside down.
This set is available now via my Artfinder store. For this type of smaller hexagon panel, it would look good when you have multiple on the wall together. Similar to hexagon shelves, you will likely have multiple hexagon shelves on the wall. This arrangement creates a pattern. Of course, you can rearrange the sequence according to your preferences. Each piece features a unique yuzen style hexagon design.
I hope you enjoy this set.
Merry Christmas ❤
