Pet portraits commissioned artworks

In September I got a commission work to paint two pet portraits. I am very grateful for this opportunity since one of the portraits is my largest commissioned artwork so far.

Cat Luka

Portrait for Luka, 20″×24″

Dog Piper

Portrait for Piper, 11″×14″

The client also wants the processing photos so I put together a story board for both paintings.

This is actually the first time I show someone my entire painting process photos. I do have an album to store all layer by layer snapshots of each painting. But every time I am not sure if I could finish (save) it or not when I am half way there. As you can see in the images above, the first color layer is the “ugly” layer. I have to go through that every time and have to see through that every time. I know some artists work area by area, but I like to work in layers. The smaller painting usually needs 3 to 4 layers, the bigger one may need 5 to 6 layers. This is the way how I work.

Client received two paintings yesterday and loves them, thankfully. 😀

If you are interested in my commissioned artwork, please check out “Commission” page on my website. I am open to all subjects such as fantasy, sci-fiction, scenery, portraits and so on and so on.

Thank you for your consideration and I am looking forward to working with you. ❤

And please feel free to ask any question via “Contact” page. I’d love to answer and help.

My paintings are an outlet to express the imagination I have inside my head that I cannot put into words.
